The youngest has bronchitis and so does the 3 yr old too I do believe, he’ll be going in as soon as I can get a medical card for him since our insurance won’t cover him. Sorry it took me so long to back here today.

We had 1258 comments by my count. Whew!

Denny started giving me numbers and he had a few more than what I needed so I hope no one minds if I change the terms of the prizes. When he reported to the USS Connecticut it was the Navy’s newest Sub.

When he re-enlisted he was then stationed on this next sub which was the Navy’s oldest.

He then broke away a bit from the submarine community and went to a Sub Tender (surface ship – TARGET). All his previous subs were fast attack subs and he also worked with Navy Seals that rode on his sub. His longest time at sea was on the Philly, they were gone 342 days one year including a 7 month deployment. He took orders to the tender to set him up for his next sub a Boomer, where he finished his career so that our 6 youngest children would be able to go to university at little to no cost. It’s a scholarship program by the state that crew members can take advantage of. For his rate being on a Boomer is boring. Fast attack subs are hunters / killers , Boomers are  strategic defense / hiders.

If anyone has seen  The Hunt for Red October Denny’s job was portrayed by Jonesy , he’s a Sonarman, it’s his job to find what they want to kill and make sure they didn’t hit any other boats or underground terrain.

So let’s move on, he left his Tender to train and deploy on loan to the US

Army in Iraq operating and maintaining the guns that track and destroyed any mortars shot at the bases. He then came home a year later to transfer and report to his last command, the Boomer and his home states namesake.

Remember when I said niceness pays off. 

Well while I was counting all those comments another idea popped into my head….oh yeah…one of those watch out now moments.

Well, while I’m waiting for a pair of pants to dry…oh,yeah I like to share my troubles. This morning as I discovered I had no clean pants(only have 3 here) there went the doorbell, thank goodness I have the kids trained not to open the door, without permission. I ran up the stairs…it was the minister or a helper from the Methodist Church here in town, here once a year they go around to the community and pass out bags of potatoes, with our family size they gave us two. The funny part was if my kids had just opened the door he would have seen me in my bloomers.

Well I am panted now so let’s move on to todays winners from our  Grand Finale / Valentine Cowboy Reid Lance Rosenthal.

We had a great day yesterday with Chris, he got to talk to his mom on the phone, it was her birthday too. then he got to talk and see his da on the computer. We had about 20 people here for his birthday dinner and cake and ice cream. He got 4 new outfits and 3 new cars from Cars 2 and a joker car and 10 hotwheels, so he’s happy today. He even got to eat two pieces of cake for snak this morn. It was a nice break for me, so thank you all.

I have a surprise. I’m going to start having a monthly Author Spotlight.  And guess what!  I had an author email me today saying she would love to come back, she enjoyed this last month. So in March we will be revisited by my friend Erin Quinn, as you may remember Erin had traveled  before the post and caught some bug that put her down for a few days. I’m so happy that Erin will be my first guest for this new featurette.

I’m so happy that I’m going to pick 3 people from today’s comments to pick a book from my book stash.  All books in my book stash are new, I received them from RomCon or they are doubles or triples I bought, if they are used ones from my library they will state that, I think I only have 3 of those.

I am taking today off to enjoy my grandson’s third birthday plus I have alot of shopping to do, cleaning and cooking too. So tomorrow or the next day I will announce Reid and Mary’s winners.  Then I have to go count all the comments for the bonus prizes.
