Temptation Of A Highland Scoundrel is the second book in Sue-Ellen’s Highland Warriors Trilogy.

Book back blurb:

Despite and official peace decreed by the King after a fierce battle between neighboring clans, old conflicts smolder in the Glen Of Many Legends. Kendrew Mackintosh, chieftain of his clan, is famed as both a hot-blooded warrior and a sensual lover. He has no intention of settling down…until he kisses a forbidden beauty whose passion matches his own.

Highborn and gently raised, Lady Isobel Cameron has long harbored a secret fascination for the fearless, charismatic Mackintosh leader–even though her brother is his sworn enemy. When destiny draws Isobel and Kendrew together for one night, she discovers a secret tenderness Kendrew can no longer hide. Unable to resist her deepening desire, she surrenders to his seductive touch. But what begins as a flirtation soon becomes a fight for survival. A deadly new threat has come to the Glen, and Kendrew and Isobel must learn to tryst one another—-or pay the ultimate price.

I’m almost afraid to say anything else as I hate to give away spoilers. Sue-Ellen does such a great job with her characters. No two could be more unlike than Kendrew and Isobel in manners and yet just like oil and vinegar when shaken and stirred and some spice thrown in, they sure do taste great on salad. Isobel would be the oil and Kendrew the balsamic Vinegar and the story is the salad. I love the interaction between Isobel and Kendrew, Kendrew tries his best to frighten Isobel away. He throws everything he can at her in order to make her see he is everything she doesn’t need, but like any great heroine Isobel isn’t easily rebuffed. There is a great suspense in the story concerning some Dreagan Stones, men dancing nekked on them, and the wild untamed beauty of the Highlands with some ghosties thrown in. Thor’s Hammer plays an important role in the story and that is my tease for this piece….nekked dancing men and Thor’s Hammer.

I love how Isobel and Kendrew first meet in this story and Kendrew, sign, ah Kendrew; he is so fierce and bloodthirsty and yet he shows Isobel such tenderness at times.  I love how he vows to stay away from her but like a moth to a flame he canna stay away. I’d love to meet Kendrew but alas I have no passport to get to Scotland so I’ll only be seeing him in Sue-Ellen’s wonderful stories. Isobel is like me, tenacious and willing to go after what she wants and well, what she wants is Kendrew and I say…..You go girl!!!

I loved this book, it’s as simple as that, I loved it and I hope if you go out and pick it up you will too.

The next book in the series is  Seduction Of A Highland Warrior and if you want to check Sue-Ellen out here is the link, she has a great site with lots of extras and pictures of Scotland.
