Welcome to the twentieth day of my Almost Heaven West Virginia Blog Bash.
Here are some of the pictures from the retirement.
Welcome to all my followers and visitors, I am having a month-long celebration in my husbands honor. My husband Denny is retiring from the Navy after serving for 24 years. We are packing up one last time and moving back to his home state of Wild Wonderful West Virginia. Each post will start off with a picture to showcase West Virginia. Everyday their will be a prize up for grabs and at the end we’ll be giving away some chocolate.
Please follow the rules posted at the end of each post to enter the daily contests and remember you don’t have to subscribe to win but I hope you decide to stick around. Also any post that contain super erotic material will carry the warning label so as not to shock or offend anyone upon opening.
Today is the perfect day for our next guest, everyone knows Wednesday is Hump Day and well I can tell you Jess Dee is one gal that can get you through it with stories so hot they’ll melt chocolate in your freezer 3 doors away. This is not for the faint at heart.
Bio:
Jess Dee lives in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with her husband, their two sons and their insane dog – a ridiculously overweight puggle named Luigi.
An avid romance reader since her early teens, Jess knew one day, when she grew up, she’d have to write her own love stories. It might have taken a while, but in December of 2005, she finally got “the call.” Her first book, Photo Opportunity had been contracted. Now you can’t hold her down. She’s completed a whole host of books, and is finally doing the work she loves most— writing romance.
Jess likes to set her stories in Australia. Have a look at the gorgeous images on the page, and you’ll understand why it’s so easy to find romance in this beautiful country.
Jess and I have never met except online at Heatwave Readers, InternationalHeatwave yahoo group and the Down Under Divas and we’ve emailed a lot about her super yummy /supper hot books and the use of ass vs butt and/or arse, ah what fun times we’ve had. Then of course there is the fact that we seem to be long-lost cousins that share a love of KMM’s books especially Kiss of the Highlander as well as the Fever series. Look for some FeverCon pics in the Q & A portion.
So I have to say I love the Bandicoot Cove series she did with Vivian Arend and Lexi Cooper.
It’s time for an indulgence, or two…or three.
Bandicoot Cove, Book 1
There’s something magical about Bandicoot Cove. It’s where Kylie Sullivan’s dream of managing a luxury, five-star resort is about to come true. And it’s where people tend to fall in love. Kylie should know. She’s fallen hard—for three very different men.
There’s Brad, who knows just how to relieve her stress and send her body on a crash course through pleasure. Hemi, her untamed Maori, who awakens her primitive side. And Finn, the sexy bartender whose specialty is Screaming Orgasms.
The three men fulfill all her sexual fantasies, but Kylie knows reality will eventually set in and she’ll have to choose. But how? For now she decides not to decide—at least until she makes sure the resort’s soft opening comes off without a hitch.
As far as Brad, Hemi and Finn are concerned, Kylie’s life is too much work and not enough play. The only choice they plan to give her is to say yes to their wildly passionate proposal…
Warning: Three sexy men pleasing one uninhibited woman—how much more warning do you need? This short story is long on heat, with a drool-worthy setting and sexual interludes in the office, at the beach and the bar. You want a day job like this.
I also think the A Question Of series is great too
How do you choose between love and honor?
Madeline Jones is having the time of her life with Gabriel Carter, a man who fulfils every one of her sexual fantasies. She’s sure it can’t get any better than this…until Gabe introduces her to his best friend.
When Connor Regan enters the mix, sparks fly. Suddenly Maddie wants more than just Gabe, she wants Connor, too. The two men seem happy to oblige.
But threesomes have a way of getting complicated. Hearts can be broken. Although Gabe and Connor play by a strict set of rules designed to minimize the damage, true love does not always adhere to the guidelines.
Sometimes, to fulfill the dream of having the love of a lifetime, even the most comprehensive codes of honor have to be challenged.
Warning: This book contains spicy sex scenes, uninhibited voyeurism, anal play, m-f-m passion, and a new sandwich recipe.
A past with three, a future for two
Gabe Carter and his best friend Connor’s passion for threesomes brought Tina Jenkins into Gabe’s bed—and into his heart. As a matter of honor, he gave up the woman he loved. Time passes, times change and old promises fall away, but Gabe is still in love with Tina. Now he’s going after his heart’s desire.
Tina has her own opinion about Gabe’s sense of honor. His departure tore apart the most special of bonds and destroyed her relationship with Connor, leaving her brokenhearted. It took her a long time to pick up the pieces, a struggle she doesn’t wish to repeat. When Gabe shows up at her favorite coffee shop, she knows just where to tell him to stick his apology.
Gabe isn’t so easily put off—and Tina can’t help but respond to his seduction. Picking up where they left off is tempting, but Gabe wants her all to himself. And Tina wants the whole package, which includes Connor.
At the risk of crushing his hopes for the future, Gabe sets out to prove he’s more than enough man for her…
Warning: If piping hot sex, ménage scenes, adult toys, anal play, short blonde heroines and stacked, muscular heroes are not your cup of tea, then don’t read this book. You won’t enjoy it.
My favorite series though by far is the Three of a Kind series
The higher the stakes, the harder they fall—in love.
Julia Savage’s weekly poker games are tearing her apart. She’s in love with two of her fellow card players, and much as she’d like to pick and confess her true feelings to one man, she won’t. Not if it means risking the love of the other.
Hunter Miles has wanted Julia for four months, and he’s about to deal a hand she couldn’t see coming. He’s determined to give her a New Year’s Eve celebration she never expected. He’s going to seduce her—in front of his friend and rival for her affections, Jay Baxter. But Jay’s not willing to lay down his cards. He’s going after Julia too, and he’s not above bluffing to get what he wants. Either way, one of them is going to win her over.
Unless they change the rules of the game. If they double up, there’s a chance they can split the pot…
Warning: this book contains two hunky heroes, a heroine worth betting on, sizzling hot three way action (m/f/m and m/m/f), a whole lot of unexpected fireworks, and a New Year’s Eve to remember.
Raising the Stakes was my absolute favorite of the three.
Play out the hand her way…or fold?
After four years, Megan Loxley has given up waiting for her best friend, Desmond Reed, to realize she loves him. It’s time to move on. When Des introduces her to his poker buddy, Alex Truman, the instantaneous sparks that flare between them signal her life is about to change forever.
Des could kick himself. How could he have failed to notice the perfect woman was by his side all this time? Now it’s too damn late. And her innocent prodding about why he’s suddenly so distant is only making his hunger for her worse. Then she gets one step too close—and his self-restraint snaps.
Stunned, bewildered, furious, Meg can’t help but respond to the kisses for which she waited so long. God help her, she loves Des. And Alex, too. Immeasurably. Now what?
It may make her the greediest woman alive, but she’s determined to win the next hand— even if she has to change the game a little. First step: state her wildly sexy proposition in a language both men will understand…and hope they’ll stick around and play by her rules.
Warning: If you’re looking for a cool game of poker, you won’t find it here. This novella is so hot the cards are still smoking. The heroine may be new to the game, but she knows exactly how to play her two kings.
A full house beats a pair any day.
It’s been a long, lonely business trip for diamond dealer Max Ashberg. He’s missed his lover like crazy, and he’s come to the realization that he’s ready to take the next step: nominate himself to be Trev’s new housemate. Except when he gets to Trev’s place, there’s someone living in “his” room. A woman—with the face of an angel.
Six weeks shouldn’t make a huge difference in a man’s life, but in that time lawyer Trev Greenfield has realized two things: He wants much more than a standing Friday night “date” with Max. And he’s falling heart-over-head for his new housemate, potter Grace Miles.
Grace never meant to fall for Trev, but when a power failure turns their chemistry into live electricity, there’s no denying the spark. There’s also no denying the shock when Grace discovers a naked man in her new home.
With Grace poised to run and Max teetering between confusion and growing lust for the delicious possibilities, Trev has his hands full trying to hold the two loves of his life together…before it all slips through his fingers. Leaving them all with shattered hearts.
Warning: There’s a lot of sex in this book. I mean a lot! Hot sex. Sweaty sex. Gay sex. Straight sex. Ménage sex (M/M/F and M/F/M). Oh, and romantic sex. Lots of romantic sex. Hot romantic sex. Sweaty romantic sex. Gay romantic sex… You getting the picture?
Now that I have pimped some of my favorites by Jess. Jess would like to promote her newest book Hidden Fire and is giving away a e-book copy of Winter Fire the prequel to Hidden Fire. I am giving away a copy of Hidden Fire to the another winner.
Hidden Fire:
Dirty desires, dark secrets…deepest love
A Red Hot Weekend story.
Well, this is an unexpected twist. Jenna Brooks is all set to spend the weekend wallowing in misery, repairing the cracks in the façade she’s maintained for twelve years. Instead she’s…tied to a chair. Kidnapped by her own twin brother and her so-called best friend.
It’s for her own good, they say. She’ll thank them later, they say. But when they reveal her partner in captivity, she shores up her emotional barriers. It’s Garreth Halt. The one man for whom she let her guard down. What a fool she was.
For one electrifying moment, Garreth had Jenna naked in his arms, on the edge of losing her legendary control. Could have kept her there forever, too, if he hadn’t felt honor-bound to tell her the truth. Before she’d heard the whole truth, though, she’d retreated behind the fortress around her heart.
Now they’re knee to knee, with no escape. While he’s irritated he let his alleged best friend get the drop on him, a small part of him is thrilled. With one final chance to show her his love is real, Garreth methodically, wickedly, sets out to dismantle her defenses.
One dirty word at a time.
Warning: Garreth may have charmed you in Winter Fire, but this time around, his blatantly sexy demands, even sexier actions and heart warming love for his heroine are gonna make you fall head over heels.
Winter Fire:
Guilty pleasures can heat the coldest winter night…
A Red Hot Winter story.
There’s never been any question in Rachel Ashberg’s mind. Jackson Brooks is the one, and they both know it. The problem? Thanks to his unbreakable rule—never date his twin sister’s friends—he’s completely off-limits. Even if they can’t imagine being with anyone else.
It’s been over two years since their last encounter, when they gave in—just once—to their passion. Now, as the Brooks twins’ milestone birthday approaches, Rachel and Jackson are about to meet again at a gorgeous mountain resort. Needing something to take the edge off the desire that has never faded, she indulges in a fling with sexy stranger Garreth Halt. He even makes her forget Jackson for a while. Or…maybe not.
When she mentions Jackson’s name in passing, Garreth picks up on all the hidden undertones in her voice. And he brings Jackson into their bed, if only in a fantasy they play out together. Funny thing about Garreth’s fantasies, though. Even the most improbable, impossible ones have a way of becoming reality…
Warning: Enough heat is contained within these pages that you won’t even notice the winter cold. You might fall in love with Jackson—the real-life hero, determined to protect his sister from further pain—but it’s the handsome stranger, Garreth, who’ll take your breath away. Let’s see some more of Jess’ covers.
So now I think we can get to the Q & A part so we can see what’s going on in Jess’s head……..
Hello Zina, and thank you so much for inviting me here today.
I’m thrilled to be here.
J
1. Did you choose your genre or did it choose you?
When I first starting fantasizing about writing all I knew was contemporary romance. I had no idea about other genres like erotic, paranormal etc. I just always knew I wanted to write a romance, and in my head had targeted Harlequin. Then I discovered erotic romance…and, well, the rest as they say, is history.
2. What is your favorite comfort food?
Ok, is that a trick question?
Coz honestly, I don’t have a favorite. I love food so much, it’s too hard to choose just one. In fact, I love it so much, my tag line is:
Jess Dee
Dee-liciously sexy romance.
3. Do you have a comfort read?
Karen Marie Moning’s Kiss Of The Highlander.
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read this book. I adore it. Read it at least once a year.
Be still my heart…Drustan McKeltar
4. Were you a bookworm growing up?
Who did you read?
Oh yeah. I’ve always been a voracious reader. Started with authors like Enid Blyton and Noel Streatfield, then I discovered Sweet Dream romances for teens. That changed me forever. I was hooked on romance. Made my way through Silhouette Romance and Love Swept, Danielle Steel, Harlequin… And in between the romances, I went through a big Suspense/thriller period.
5 What is something that scares the heck out of you?
Okay, this going to sound absolutely ridiculous, and you can laugh if you want, but, well, I’m terrified of sharks – in my swimming pool. Always have been. If I’m swimming alone, I can’t help but imagine there’s a shark swimming towards me, mouth open, teeth bared… I know, I know. It’s an old childhood fear that won’t go away – but there you have it. (Stop laughing!)
Spew***Not my fault , that was funny because when I lived in Florida I had the same fear but with Alligators.
6. If you could go on the Ultimate Vaca where would you go and who or what would go with you?
In September, I went with my hubby and kids on a cruise to the Caribbean. It was a dream holiday. The best. We all loved it. Now everyday my kids ask when we’re going on another cruise. And everyday, I wanna answer: Tomorrow.
7. Who are some of your favorite authors?
Karen Marie Moning, Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, Charlaine Harris, JR Ward – they are all automatic buys for me.
And I’m discovering new authors every day. My latest discover: Maria V Snyder.
8. Research? How do you prefer to do it; plane/train/automobile, laptop or library?
I am thankful everyday for the internet. I’m forever hopping on to check out places and facts.
Oh – and people watching. It’s amazing what you can learn just by studying the couple at the table next to yours.
9. Do you attend conferences?
If so where can we “stalk” I mean go to find you and which is your favorite to attend?
As many as I can. Unfortunately, there are only one or two regular romance conferences in Australia: The Romance Writers of Australia and The Australian Romance Readers Association.
I went to RT (Romantic Times) last year, and would love to do more overseas conferences, unfortunately, the cost is prohibitive. L
FeverCon – Phil Gigante who does the audio books and Eric Etaberi?? who was the inspiration for Barrons, he’s holding up his crop just for Jess.
10.What do you like to drink, nibble on or listen to while you write?
Tea, tea and more tea. It’s my staple while I’m writing.
I nibble on anything and everything. (Remember? Insane food lover here.)
And I’ve taking to downloading any song that appeals to me, so I listen to a wide range of music. (Yay for Shazam and iTunes!)
11. Do you have kids?
If so are they toddlers, school age, teens, college bound or “Hey Mom, I’m home again! or are you an empty nester?
I have two boys, aged 7 and 10, who I love madly, but boy oh boy, they can drive me insane! (Can you tell summer holidays have only just finished and I am happy dancing my way through the first day of school?)
We are just past the half way point in school.
12. If you could have one of your books or series to be made into a movie which would it be?
Er, Zina – you do know I write erotic romance? If my books were made into movies, NO ONE would be allowed to watch them.
J
Having said that…
If I had to choose, it would be my Circle of Friends series (Only Tyler and Steve’s Story).
Duh, what was I thinking?????
13. Favorite TV shows?
Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood and currently enjoying The Secret Circle.
14. To finish off, describe your self in 5 words.
Mother, wife, sister, friend, writer

Good Morning everyone
Good morning Jess.
Hey I forgot to mention that Jess is way over in Ausie land and so she may not be here until later due to the time difference. I have no clue how far ahead they are but I think it’s around 12 hours give or take.
Goodness I love looking at the covers, to me it’s like art and not just erotic poses I like the differnce in light and dark and the flow of lines, the placing of hands etc.
On the homefront all but 2 are back in school, thank goodness.

Karen…my ideas come from all over the place. Usually they start as a vague thought in the back of my mind, and then grow and grow until I can’t get rid of them.
My first book, ‘Photo Opportunity’, what based on a what if scenario. See,I had a really good male friend and everyone used to ask…so, why don’t you two get it together? The answer was obvious to us: because we were just friends. But in my mind, I asked the question: What if that wasn’t the case?
And ‘Photo Opportunity’ was born.
With ‘See You In My Dreams’, I was innocently fantasizing about meeting Jason Mraz. (Love him and his music.) Next thing I knew, there was the idea for a book in my head: Ordinary girl meets superstar rock singer.
Usually when I start writing a book, the secondary characters start talking to me. Then I know I have to write their stories too. That’s why most of my books either have sequels, or are part of a series.
🙂
Oh, and thanks for your compliments about my covers. I love them!

(BTW – I love that you’ve loved my books).

Congrats on your upcoming Release and as always it’s going onto my gotta have buy list….*S*I just adore your books, and look forward to each and everyone as a wonderful experience. I’ve been dying to read the Bandicoot Cove series. Your A Question Of series are such a great coming together of characters in each book. They have been a joy to read, and I’ve re read them a couple of times now…*S*
Wishing you all the best always!

Are Max Ashberg from Full House and Rachel Ashberg from Winter Fire somehow related or is this just a common last name? I’ve had Hidden Fire and Winter Fire on my TBR pile for a while. Can’t wait to read them. Congrats on the new release.

JOANNE!
I’m so excited you made the connection.
😀
Yep, Rachel and Max are brother and sister, and work together in Sydney in their jewellery shop.
Rachel designs the jewellery, Max buys the stones and takes care of the business side of things.
Hope you enjoy the Fire series.
