FRENCH LESSONS is our last review & giveaway featuring Ms. Andresen. It’s been fun and when I have 2 minutes to rub together there are several more books of her’s I’d love to read. If & when any of y’all read these please, let me know your thoughts. Love to talk books!
While searching for books on her latest chosen subject, herbs, bluestocking Danielle Wemberley happens upon an illustrated French grammar book depicting conjugations of the masculine and feminine, in vivid color. Sharing the treatise with her best friend, the married Helen isn’t enough for Danielle. Shouldn’t one put the knowledge they’ve gained to practical use?
Danielle is unaware the naughty little book has an even more clandestine purpose that puts her in the middle of a Foreign Office operation.
Danielle discovers just how powerful and transformative knowledge can be when she discovers a risqué French grammar book hidden behind others in a rarely visited nook of the Hookham’s lending library. Simply possessing the mental awareness that a proper unmarried Regency lady shouldn’t has changed Danielle perceptibly. Men now flock around her much to her dismay. Danielle really doesn’t want a husband, that would interfere with her reading and learning, a lover is a whole different story though if only she can find the right man.
A chance encounter with Richard Grey, Earl of Essex, a wastrel in society’s eyes but actually a spy for prince regent and country, gives Danielle her perfect candidate. Now all she has to do is put what she’s read to good use and seduce the earl.
I’m torn between wanting more of the delightfully charming Danielle and Richard while not wanting to ruin a good thing.
FRENCH LESSONS is a teasing, tantalizing treat that’s guaranteed to tickle your funny bone and bring a twinkle to your eye.
Thanks to Sami at JKS Communications I have a digital of FRENCH LESSONS to give away to one (1) lucky commenter. Are you like Danielle? Do you binge read on topics? Giveaway ends @12am est 10-5-13 with the winner announced shortly thereafter. Good Luck y’all!
