After we were pronounced man and wife, I remember when my new husband and I kissed in front of everyone then turned and walked back down the aisle together. My heart swelled with such happiness, I thought it would burst. There is an old photo of us exiting the church with me looking up with such love at my husband. It’s what love is all about. We have been married for 47 years and he still makes my heart swell. I love him so much and he’s my best friend ever.

At my own wedding, the flowers hadn’t arrived, and it was almost time for the wedding. They claimed they came at the arranged time and no one was at the church. I was there waiting. So, it’s time for the wedding and my mother is putting up the altar flowers in front of all the guests. And, the person who was to walk me down the aisle, was late. so my husband to be grabbed a friend of he and my brother (the best man) to do the honors. He sort of ran me down the aisle. Despite all the problems, we’ve been married for 42 years.

One of my best friends’ brand new husband accidentally stepped on the train of her dress as they had started walking down the aisle of the church as man and wife. (The matron of honor was more than a little pregnant and had trouble bending down to move it out of the way.) The bride’s gown ripped very loudly. The worst part was that her step mother started yelling at the groom during photo time and kept snarking about the costly dress during the reception. 😦

Awkwardly, I had my mother, my ex-step mother and my new step mother all at my wedding reception. All at different tables. Luckily, no trouble ensued. LOL!

The most romantic moment from my wedding 25 years ago was when hubby and I were saying our vows, after he said I Do, he said Always. This one word was the theme to our wedding. It is even engraved in our wedding bands and the way we sign every card. Our wedding song was even called Always, by Atlantic Starr. Hubby may not always be the most romantic guy but once in a while he does something great!
