Tortured Hero Hop

Tortured Hero Button  So Carrie Ann had to cancel due to surgery and I hope all goes well for her. But since I had the post ready to go and the books are sitting here I am going to just hold the hop here.

What is it about those tortured heroes? I mean, just, wow. Your heart breaks for these guys. The brooding looks, the peaks into their souls….just everything. They’re my favorite type of hero in every type of situation. I want one for my own. What is it about tortured heroes that makes you want to go MINE?

Seawitch here: We all love our tortured heroes don’t we. They are broke temporarily and we want to fix them, to give them back their soul and fill their heart with love and peace while  hopefully gaining the love of our lives too.

I love Tortured Heroes and I have 4 favorite authors who write some really good tortured heroes every woman can drool over. So just for this hop because I couldn’t decide, I’m giving away 5 books from my 4 favorites, so 5 winners will get one of the following books.

I have loved Janet’s books since the day I first met Greylen MacKeage, who was the first of many books and spinoffs. I have been lucky to meet Janet twice now at book signings and so enjoyed chit chatting with her.

Heart of a Hero  Book 4 in the Spellbound Fall series by Janet Chapman

Originally from the ancient mythical island of Atlantis, Nicholas has spent the last year deep in the mountains of Maine, serving as Director of Security for the Nova Mare and Inglenook resorts. Fully embracing his life in the twenty-first century, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to a trouble-prone employee, and is determined to keep her safe.

The last thing Julia Campbell needs is a man with a hero complex, especially one as handsome and imposing as Nicholas. All she has to do is keep it together until her younger sister turns eighteen, and then she can focus on her own life. But strange things have been happening at the resort—and it’s Nicholas who keeps coming to her rescue. When Nicholas is suddenly the one in trouble, Julia realizes he’s not quite what he seems—and that she’ll do anything to help the man who’s stolen her heart…

From my friend Melissa  Mayhue we have Warrior Reborn book 2 in her The Warriors series. Melissa is also one of the sweetest people to meet in person and seeing her each year in Denver at RomCon is always a highlight of the year.

Warrior Reborn   Only his love can free her.

Former special ops agent CHASE NOBLE has been searching his whole life for the place where he belongs. As a descendant of Fae, he senses fate has more in store for him. And he will not rest until he discovers what his true purpose is. When he travels back in time to medieval Scotland, he discovers his mission is to save a beautiful woman — the same woman he is destined to be with.
CHRISTIANA MacDOWYLT possesses the gift of foresight. Prisoner of her evil half-brother, Christiana has visions that show her that only one warrior can rescue her — a man she is mysteriously drawn to. The only problem is, he’s in the future. Now she must rely on the magic of a Faerie to transport him to the past. And when Christiana finally meets Chase, the sparks between them set off a smoldering desire. But will the magic that brought them together also tear them apart?

From my dear friend Sue-Ellen and her alter ego Allie Mackay, who I found via our Gel Friday while in a used book store when she handed me a copy of Highlander in Her Bed saying, “Here Mom, I think this is a book for you.” And Boy was she right. But I had already read about Duncan MacKenzie and loved her work under her name. Imagine my surprise to find out she also wrote the new love of my life the Allie Mackay novels. I couldn’t read or get my hands on her books fast enough. It’s thank to SE that I started reading about my beloved Highlanders again and found so many other wonderful authors. Meeting SE and getting to give Sir Em a wee scratch behind the ears is on my bucket list!
Haunted Warrior  Haunted Warrior by Allie Mackay
Kendra Chase is exhausted from her work as a ghost whisperer, so she’s  been looking forward to her vacation in Edinburgh. But work awaits her  as the tiny fishing village is being excavated, and supernatural  uprisings have been reported.Graeme MacGrath knows the source of the psychic trouble. The excavation  is disrupting the protective veil between this world and darker, more  ancient ones. He hates to admit it but he will need the fetching Kendra  and her paranormal abilities to save the town he loves from unspeakable  evil.
shell
Seduction of A Highland Warrior  Seduction of A Highland Warrior book 3 in Sue-Ellen Welfonder’s Highland Warrior’s Trilogy
At the King’s request, chieftain Alasdair MacDonald has sworn to preserve the peace in the Glen of Many Legends. Though he’s handsome and fearless, his warrior’s heart belongs only to his beloved land—until the fair sister of his oldest enemy shatters his defenses, branding his skin with a single touch, and sealing his fate with one stolen kiss . . .

Lady Marjory Mackintosh will do anything to unite the warring clans, even seduce Alasdair MacDonald. She has loved the rugged Highlander since she first saw him and now, as temptation leads to surrender, Marjory dares to possess him, body and soul. But a dangerous new menace enters the Glen, and he will stop at nothing to strip Alasdair of his honor—and the only woman who can claim his heart.

This next one is a recent find and I love her books. She is also a nice lady to meet at a book signing. The winner of this one will be happy, as Monica sent me a signed copy  for a giveaway. So from Monica McCarty we have The Recruit from her Highland Guard series.

The Recruit  Scotland’s King Robert the Bruce is retaking his kingdom from the invading English. To win, he’ll need all the grit and courage of his elite band of warriors, the Highland Guard, men who fight without fear and love without limits.

Fiery, aggressive, and bold, Kenneth Sutherland is a true champion—skilled with any weapon and driven to win. Now Kenneth is ready for his greatest challenge: joining Robert the Bruce’s secret army to fight among the elite. Kenneth’s best chance to attain that honor is by winning the Highland Games. Focused and prepared for victory, he is caught off guard by a lovely wisp of a woman—and a stolen moment of wicked seduction. Her innocent arousal and her shameless hunger fire his blood. He will win his place in the guard—and in Mary of Mar‘s bed.

The ruggedly handsome hero-in-the-making stirs a heart that should know better. Mary vows her surrender will be sport only—no promises, no heartbreak, just one night of incredible passion. Nothing, she swears, will persuade her to give up her hard wrought independence and put her fate in the hands of another powerful man. But with every gentle touch and heart-pounding kiss, Kenneth makes her want more. Now Mary wants his heart. But is this determined champion willing to surrender everything for love?

shell

I also have a new to me author I am featuring and I am giving away a digital copy of her book Rough Around the Edges, it is how one wounded warrior returning from the war learns to deal with his PTSD.

Rough-Around-the-Edges-

Sometimes love is enough. Other times, you have to fight for it.

Raw, real romance from an all-male point of view.

For Ryan Moore, the choice to fight is like the choice to breathe – necessary. After being wounded in war and discharged from the United States Marine Corps, competitive MMA fighting is the only thing he’s still able to excel at. Every round is a risk he can’t afford to take, but time spent outside of the cage is purgatory, until he meets female fighter Ally Rivera. For the first time since an IED blast destroyed life as he knew it, he wants something – someone. And she wants him, but the lingering effects of war might just tear them apart, if the gang violence that plagues her family doesn’t kill them first.

Rough Around the Edges is Ryan’s side of the love story told in Battered Not Broken. It’s not a sequel, but a separate novel written for those who want to experience the story through Ryan’s eyes. Read Battered Not Broken first or simply dive right in and enjoy an erotic romance novel told completely from a male point of view.

So the rules: Leave us a tidbit about your favorite Tortured Hero real or Fictional, winner will be announced May 2nd after I get home from RI.

Good luck everyone!

A Funny Story and a Ton of Winners!

Ok, I hope everyone had a fun Thanksgiving weekend and if you did the Black Friday shopping (I do not.)   I hope you got all the deals you wanted. I shop about two days before Christmas or after. I know bah hum bug I am. No we usually save our money to do a family trip in Feb or March. So I usually only buy a few movies for a family Christmas gift and a very small gift for each kid.

So here was the story I forgot to tell you all. When I went to get the internal ultrasound on my uterus my 12-year-old son went to deliver some boy scout  popcorn he stopped at a friend house and she asked him how I was going. He told her I was having an ultrasound because he thought I was pregnant. Next thing we know Denny’s Sister is calling and yelling at him about him being a papa again when he is supposedly fixed. Denny’s mom got mad because we laughed about it, she said we didn’t need rumors spread, the only bad part is it’s his own family that spreads them.

Sorry, I’ve been out running errands for Denny  and delivering popcorn. I stopped at the clinic to deliver to my doctor and cousin that work there and I had them prick my finger because I’m starting what I am hoping is my monthly cycle. My number has gone down from 11.1 to 10.7  and I’m taking my iron. They want me to come back in on Friday for another finger stick.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Ok, so I’m making a last-minute change, because a lot of my followers are in the areas affected by Sandy and so many are without power I’m extending the contest until November 8th. Hopefully by them everyone will have power and internet back. I’m doing this because when we had the Tornado and were without power for 10 days I missed out on claiming some cool prizes I had won and I remember how bummed I was so there you go. That gives everyone an extra 8 days to comment on Oct. posts. Haven’t heard yet if our Trick or Treating has been changed but I hope so because it is still raining here and it sounded like my siding or car port roof is loose. I expect we’ll have flooding soon.

So if you are in Sandy’s path, be wise, be smart, stay inside, stay safe and stay dry!

And Gel Friday will be home next Monday. Yeah, I’ve missed my Stephanie, although Gram and Grampa don’t want to give her back!

So we are not done yet ladies. Remember all the comments count on every post, lots of books to win.  You can start back here http://wp.me/p1HH6W-QN . Oh and pay attention you never know when I’ll ask a question to make it interesting. Also no more leaving your email address with your comments.  For any newcomers you don’t have to be a follower to win but I hope you do decide to follow; just make sure you come back to see if you win because I won’t chase you down.  While almost all of the  books are new, a few are extras out of my library and therefore used, just so you know.

So are we enjoying the Bus tour??? I feel like we are on one of those mini busses like they take you around in for tours of Scotland. Ready for our next stop????      Ok so everyone please look out the right hand side at the lovely view.

First we have a special giveaway, DJ randomly picked a number and I counted til we got to the lucky commenter from yesterday who answered my question to win a redneck calendar for 2013. Here is a picture.      And our winner is :     Jeanne Miro

Now if you all will please look to the left of the bus you will see coming up:

From The Doomsday Brethren series by Shayla Black,

Tempt Me With Darkness   He’s an immortal knight hungering for satisfaction. . . .

As soon as Marrok sees Olivia Gray, he’s sure they met in eons past. He’s felt her soft, gentle curves writhing in pleasure beneath his own powerful body. . . Morganna! For centuries, towering Marrok, once the mightiest of King Arthur’s warriors, has endured a terrible curse the witch cast upon him when he spurned the witch.

She’s a modern woman about to discover ancient magic. . . .

Olivia shares a mystical—and irresistible—connection with brooding Marrok. Soon after the sexy warrior appears in her erotic dreams, he abducts her, demanding she uncurse him. Their intense passion is more powerful—and intimate—than either of them has ever known. Olivia may be the key to unlocking the diary that will break Morganna’s hold on his life. But in the wrong hands, the book also holds the power to destroy magickind. As they search for answers, a ruthless wizard returned from exile is building an army of evil. When he discovers Marrok and Olivia have the diary, only their love—with the help of a powerful group of magical Brethren—can save them.

The BOI’s aka Black Ops Inc by Cindy Gerard are next with

Show No Mercy.    The sultry heat . . .

Only two things can compel journalist Jenna McMillan back to Buenos Aires after terrorists held her captive there just months before: a rare interview with a shadowy billionaire and the memory of the dark and dangerous man who saved her. . . .

Hides the deadliest threats . . .

Bad guys, bombs, and bullets are Gabriel Jones’s way of life. But he’ll never forget the brash redhead he rescued not so long ago . . . or the passionate kiss they shared before he sent her packing.

And exposes the deepest desires. . . .

Now, forced together by a bombing at the National Congress, Jenna and Gabe confront the urgent longings that simmer between them. But this surprise meeting is no coincidence. A ruthless enemy stalks them with deadly precision. The question is . . . if they make it out alive, will Gabe turn his back on Jenna . . . again?

Tara Janzen has a great series too with ex-military with her

Steele Street series and Crazy Hot is up first.   LOVE HAS NEVER BEEN THIS  WILD.

Only the most dire emergency  could send paleontologist Regan McKinney racing across the West in search of a  man.  But her grandfather has vanished,  and Quinn Younger could be the missing link.   What the bad-boy-turned-American-hero is doing in a deserted tumbleweed  town is an even bigger mystery…until danger trails Regan into Cisco, Utah,  and the sexy ex-Air Force pilot becomes her sole hope of survival…

THIS DANGEROUS.

Quinn figures things can’t  get worse than being stuck in tiny Cisco on an impossible special-ops  mission.  Then the dinosaur doc’s  granddaughter roars into town with bad guys on her tail.  Once, Quinn was on the fast track to a life  of crime…until Regan’s grandfather rescued him.  Now Quinn owes it to them both to find the  old guy.  But throw in a deadly terrorist  and some hot dinosaur bones, and a man could get himself killed.

THIS HOT.

Because facing down danger  with this revved-up lady is one endless adrenaline-rush of pleasure –  especially when they’re falling crazy in love…and hanging on for dear life…

Ok if you will look back to the right just past the Highland Coos you will see something special coming up out of the mist….

Larissa Ione is going to take us on a paranormal side trip with her Demonica Series. Demons, Vamps and Weres – Oh My! I don’t know why I waited til the third book to start this series, it’s great!

First in this series is Pleasure Unbound     In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life…

She’s a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure—but fears it will always be denied her. Until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.

Two lovers will dare to risk all.

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she his avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his desire to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable—and let Tayla possess him, body and soul…

Next up we have Kathryne Kennedy and her  Relics of Merlin series.  This is the new cover.

Their magic lives within each one
of them…

In a Victorian England with a rigid hierarchy of magic, lion shape-shifter Sir Terence Blackwell is at the bottom
rung of society. Only Lady Felicity Seymour, who has no magic, no inheritance, and no prospects, may be willing to judge the man strictly on his own merits…

However deeply it may be
hidden…

When family pressures push Lady Felicity into a terrible fate, she has only Sir Terence to turn to. As the two outcasts
are propelled by circumstances beyond their control, they are forced to explore the unseen depths beneath society’s facade. And what they discover about each other is more real and more beautiful than they ever could have imagined…

From Angela Knight we have the Warrior, I would love to see more in this series also.     In the 24th century, anyone can leap through time at will. To police the time jumpers, the Temporal Enforcement Agency has established a precinct in time. Galar Arvid is a genetically altered warlord and agent who’s been sent back to 2008 to save a pretty Atlanta artist from a Xeran time traveler who intends to kill her for profit. What Galar doesn’t count on is the powerful desire Jessica Kelly ignites in him. But could a romance between them work? A three-hundred-year chasm separates them and, even if they dart through time, there’s still a maniacal killer on their tails.

Marjorie M. Liu gives us the Dirk and Steele series where Tiger Eye is the first book.    He looks completely out of place in Dela Reese’s Beijing hotel room—like the tragic hero of some epic tale, exotic and poignant. He is like nothing from her world, neither his variegated hair nor his feline yellow eyes. Yet Dela has danced through the echo of his soul, and she knows this warrior would obey.Hari has been used and abused for millennia; he is jaded, dull, tired. But upon his release from the riddle box, Hari sees his new mistress is different. In Dela’s eyes he sees a hidden power. This woman is the key. If only he dares protect, where before he has savaged; love, where before he’s known hate. For Dela, he will dare all.
Our last stop before lunch is with Brenda Joyce. Brenda Joyce has a series that I so wish she would continue, the first  story in her
Masters of Time is Dark Rival Highland warriors sworn to protect Innocence through the ages…A golden man, he is called Black Royce—a battle hardened soldier of the gods. His vows are his life—until he is sent to New York City to protect a Healer from those who would use her powers for themselves. The moment Royce sees beautiful, feisty Allie Monroe, he knows she will be his only weakness—and he is right.Destiny is a dangerous thing.Allie Monroe is more than an heiress. She is a Healer, willing to do anything to save victims of the evil that lurks in the city at night. But alone, she can do only so much—until destiny sends her the darkest Highlander of them all. Then evil strikes and Royce is destroyed before Allie’s eyes. Now Allie will do anything to save Royce—even if it means going back in time to a dark, dangerous world to be with him. And confronting their enemies could cost not only their lives, but also their love—for all eternity. The Masters of Time is continued with her  Rose Trilogy and Dark Seduction

A Highland warrior sworn to protect Innocence throughout the Ages…

Aidan, the Wolf of Awe, has abandoned the Brotherhood and forsaken his vows. Feared by all and trusted by none, he hunts alone, seeking vengeance against the evil that destroyed his son. He has not saved an Innocent in sixty-six years–until he hears Brianna Rose’s scream of terror across centuries, and leaps to modern-day Manhattan to rescue her…

Her Seduction… His Salvation.

Brie spends her time fighting evil from the safety of her laptop—and fantasizing about the medieval Highlander she met just once. She is also a gifted empath. Still, her life is pretty ordinary—until she awakens one night consumed with Aidan’s pain and rage—which she is feeling across centuries! And when Aidan suddenly appears in the city and takes her hostage, Brie cannot believe how dark and dangerous he has become. She knows she should be afraid, but instead, she will fight across time for his redemption… and his love.

Ok so let’s all get out and stretch our legs a wee bit and head on over to the wee little fish and chips shop….I hope you all like fish and chips if not ask for a deep-fried Snickers of Oreo cookie…oh yes you didna know they deep fry everything here???? Denny who has been to Scotland (Damn him…Damn him to Hell) can verify it.

Fried Snickers

Fried Oreos

Ok so time to load up again ladies. Ok so as we set off again if you all will all look to the right we are coming up to some hunky Highlanders, a fitting way to end todays tour.

Julia London who was tickled that I brought around 18 books for her to sign at RomCon has her Highland Lockhart Family and

Highlander Unbound      On leave from his Highland regiment, Captain Liam Lockhart comes to London on an urgent mission: to repossess the stolen family heirloom that could save his ancestral estate. He never dreamed it would involve surrendering his heart. But the beautiful and scandalous socialite Ellen Farnsworth sets his Highland blood aflame with a will as strong and reckless as his own. Though bound to Liam by a soul-searing passion, duty impels Ellen to commit a terrible betrayal.

Now, driven by passion, pride, and vengeance that know no bounds, this fearsome Highlander will reclaim not only his family’s ancient treasure, but the one daring woman he was meant to love for all time.

From Melissa Mayhue’s Daughters of the Glen we have

Thirty Nights With A Highland Husband.

In the misty recesses of time a Faerie Prince loses his true love, prompting a blessing on all his mortal female descendants, bestowing his powers on them that they should be protected and allowed to find their own true loves.

CONNOR MACKIERNAN is a 13th century Scottish warrior, a descendent of that Faerie prince,  a man who lives only for honor and duty, but he has a huge problem. His experience of betrayal at the hands of women has left him  suspicious and distrustful of any woman’s motives. He’s sworn never to marry, but finds he must do exactly that to save his sister. With the help of his well-meaning aunt, and a little Faerie magic, the search for a bride is on.

CAITLYN CORYELL is a 21st century woman who longs to be strong enough to find love without sacrificing who she is. Her experience with an unfaithful fiance who wanted to marry her only for her family’s money and influence has left her doubting her desirability and any man’s reason for wanting her. Imagine her surprise when she puts on an antique pendant and Connor appears in her bedroom, begging her help to save his sister. He offers a simple adventure: travel to his time, marry him and return home. But nothing’s simple when the adventure backfires, trapping Cate in the 13th Century.

An ancient Faerie’s blessing reaches across the barriers of time to unite two emotionally wounded people. But it will take more than the magic of the Fae to heal their hearts. It will require the most powerful magic of all – the magic of true love.

And from Melissa’s Warrior series the spin-off we have

Warrior’s Redemption       Will the magic of modern romance help him defeat an evil ancient power?

MALCOLM MACDOWYLT sees himself a failed warrior, haunted by the death of  the woman he married to become laird of Clan MacGahan.  Neither his Viking  heritage nor his claim to descend from Norse gods can restore his confidence in his ability to protect his people.  His sister is held captive, her life in jeopardy, and his Magically powerful half-brother wants him dead.  The last thing he needs is more responsibility, but that’s exactly what he gets when his Faerie mother-in-law arrives seeking justice for her daughter in the form of an enticing woman from seven hundred years in the future.

DANIELLE DEARMON has waited fifteen years to discover the life she is supposed to live.  She just never dreamed she’d end up in the thirteenth century with a handsome Scot bent on saving everyone but himself.

With the lives of those most dear to him hanging in the balance, Malcolm sets out to battle a powerful evil Magic, only to learn that the redemption he seeks exists only in the arms of the woman he loves.

I love this next series and not only are the titles and covers cute and catchy but the stories have humorous and I love a good laugh. So from Kieran Kramer and her Impossible Bachelors may I offer

When Harry Met Molly.

He’s always been a player. Dashing Lord Harry Traemore is perfectly content to live out his days in  the pursuit of pleasure. But when he’s named by the Prince Regent as  one of society’s “Impossible Bachelors,” Harry is drafted into a ribald  romantic wager. The rules of engagement are scandalously simple: The  bachelor whose mistress wins the title of “Most Delectable Companion”  gets to remain unmarried. Harry is utterly unconcerned about his  status…until his latest lightskirt abandons him.

Who will win this game of love? Enter Lady Molly Fairbanks. Harry’s childhood friend—actually, “foe”  is more like it—is the most unlikely companion of all. She’s attractive  but hot-headed, and in no mood for games. Besides, what could the  self-indulgent Harry possibly know about what makes a woman delectable?  It’s time for Molly to teach him a lesson once and for all…but will it  lead to “happily ever after?”

And last but not least is Monica McCarty and The Highland Guard series and The Chief.    An elite fighting force like the world has never seen…

Scouring the darkest corners of the Highlands and Western Isles, Robert the Bruce handpicks ten warriors to help him in his quest to free Scotland from English rule. They are the best of the best, chosen for their superior skills in each discipline of warfare. To lead his secret Highland Guard, Bruce chooses the greatest warrior of all.

The ultimate Highland warlord and a swordsman without equal, Tor MacLeod has no intention of being drawn into Scotland’s war. Dedicated to his clan, the fiercely independent chief answers to no one—especially not his alluring  new bride, bartered to him in a bid to secure his agreement to command the deadliest fighting force the world has ever seen. The treacherous chit who made her way to his bed may have won his hand, but she will never claim his heart.

Although her husband’s reputation is as fierce as his manner, Christina Fraser believes something softer hides beneath his brutal shell. But the only warmth she feels is in their bed, in the glorious moments of white-hot desire  that disappear with the dawn. When Christina’s reckless bid to win her husband’s love goes awry and thrusts them into danger on the eve of war against England,  Tor will face his ultimate battle: to save his wife and open his heart—before it’s too late.

Well that is the end of the tour for this part of the day but don’t worry come back later today for our e-books and erotic selections, yes I said erotic….be warned! Weren’t those Highlanders just Hunky?????

Warrior’s Redemption by Melissa Mayhue

       I do believe in Faeries… I do believe in Faeries… I do…I do.

Warrior’s Redemption by Melissa Mayhue is Book One in her new Warriors series. It is in my opinion loosely connected to her Daughters of the Glen series, which I love by the way.

Melissa’s story stars a heroine who believes with her whole body and spirit in Faeries. Danielle or Dani for short ; Dani has believed in Faeries all her life and she just knows they have a purpose for her. So at midnight on Halloween or Samhain, as it was called in medieval time, Dani will be prepared. She has saved her money and has used it to buy special rocks and crystals to hopefully open a portal to communicate with the Faeries. Dani is not the only one asking for boons from the Fae. It is this combination of supplications that lands our heroine back in 1294 Scotland. I have to say I like how the Faeries’ Queen answers –  “You had but to ask daughter. So you wish it, so it will be.”

I have to say here that if I was transported back to medieval Scotland I would ask the Faerie queen for a boon-to bring a few modern convenances with me:

1) never-ending femine supplies

2) my venus razor (refills too)

3) my modern toilet complete with toilet paper ( also never-ending)

4) my microwave (It would magically work without electricity of course)

Oh and my toothbrush and toothpaste.( never-ending supply/ enough to share too)

That is the only thing that bothered me about our heroine, I kept waiting for her to complain about something she missed and she didn’t, not once!!!!! I’d be crying my eyes out, oh I’d want to be there but I’d be missing my above list. I really liked Dani though and would love to have her for a friend.

Now let’s move on to our Scottish hero Malcolm MacDowylt, laird of the clan MacGahan, who is no stranger to magic himself. Malcolm thinks he’s cursed by the Gods of Old. As a young lad Malcolm was chosen by the Norse God Oden himself and marked with his symbol over his heart. Malcolm is a wonderful hero, ready to sacrifice himself for those he loves and promises to protect. I won’t tell you any more about Malcolm as he is going to be all yours to discover.

There are some wonderful secondary characters and villains. Melissa has done such a fine job setting up potential heroes and heroines while weaving her tale of enchantment and magic. I can’t wait to see if some of my favorites get their own stories. We have Patrick, Malcolm’s brother, who is the strong silent type, a warrior through and through. Elesyria is a Faerie bent on dispensing justice, good or bad.

We have one heck of a villain in Malcolm’s half-brother, Torquil, who is definitely a snake with his own magical powers, also bestowed by Odin. Then we have a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a good guy hiding in plain sight too. I canna tell you anymore without giving out spoilers. I hope you get a chance to pick up Warrior’s Redemption so you too can be swept away by magic, murder, betrayal, Faeries and enduring love. In fact you will be seeing this book up for grabs soon in a contest, hint hint!

Will the magic of modern romance help him defeat an evil ancient  power?

Only his love can free her.

I give Warrior’s Redemption 4.75 tail swishes. Want to go check Melissa and her books out? Well you can go here http://www.melissamayhue.com/index.html
