Raise your hand if you love a good cowboy story……yeah, I pretty much thought that would be everyone. So now that we are all in accord let me introduce you to a wonderful lady who can pen one heck of a hot Cowboy story.       Cat Johnson

Bio:

As an author of contemporary romance in genres including military, cowboy, ménage and paranormal, Cat Johnson uses her computer so much she wore the letters off the keyboard within a year. A self-proclaimed promo ‘ho, she is known for her creative marketing and research practices. Consequently, Cat has sponsored bull riding rodeo cowboys, owns an entire collection of cowboy boots and camouflage shoes for book signings and a fair number of her consultants wear combat or cowboy boots for a living. In her real life, she’s been a marketing manager, professional harpist, bartender, tour guide, radio show host, Junior League president, wife and avid animal lover.

And it’s Release Day for Texas Two-Step: Cowboy Shuffle         What’s a cowboy to do?

When the woman he wants, wants nothing to do with him, Shooter Welles pretends to be someone else. That’s how he finds himself hiding behind a fake profile on an online matchmaking site to woo the girl of his dreams—literally. Erotic, hot and sticky dreams that make him see his best friend’s sister, Ellen, in a whole new light.

Ellen Griffin wants a steady man in her life, but she’s had enough of both rodeo cowboys and doctors. Unfortunately since she’s a busy nurse and a barrel racer, those are the only men she’s around, until she meets a mysterious guy online.

Can this seemingly perfect stranger be the perfect man for her? And what will happen when he reveals his true identity?

EXCERPT (PG)

“Take off that big-ass showy buckle of yours so I can finally see what’s behind it.”

The sound of her soft, husky voice in combination with the feel of her hands on the very buckle she spoke of sent a thrill straight through him. Particularly through the part of his anatomy located just below his belt.

Shooter Welles swallowed hard. He glanced down at the sky-blue eyes gazing up into his, and then lower at the swell of the tops of her breasts showing above the neckline of her low-cut T-shirt. He tried to yank his gaze up and away from that danger zone. This was Ellen Griffin—the sister of his best friend Wes—and there was no way he should be thinking about doing what his cock, already hard enough to drive nails, was already anticipating.

“Ellen—” Her name came out sounding like a plea, though he wasn’t sure if he was begging her to stop, or to keep going.

“Come on. You know you want to.” She practically purred it in a tone he’d never heard come out of her in all the years they’d known each other. Well, perhaps when she spoke to her horse before a barrel racing competition, but certainly never when she talked to him. Usually Shooter got the annoyed Ellen voice, not the soft, sweet and totally sexy one. He wasn’t sure he could resist it, or her.

Fuck it. Why even try?

“Hell yeah, I want to.” He scooped her into his arms as she squealed in surprise.

He carried her from the living room of the apartment she shared with Wes, directly into her bedroom, angling both their bodies sideways through the narrow doorway just like a groom carries his bride.

And why the hell were thoughts even remotely related to marriage crossing his mind at a time like this? Now, when he was about to take her every way he could imagine, plus maybe a few ways he hadn’t even thought of yet.

Putting her down next to the bed, he squelched the bride-and-groom image right quick and concentrated on planning how best to strip her for the quickest access to the parts of her he’d never even dreamed he’d ever get to see. But before he could get to work on Ellen, she was making short work of him, conquering his buckle quick as a wink. With the two ends of the heavy leather and brass belt hanging open wide, she unfastened his jeans, and then her hands were upon him. With her help, his hard-on sprang free of his boxer briefs.

“Mm. I’ve waited a long time to do this.” She glanced down while stroking him.

Shooter shuddered at the sensation of her hand grasping his cock. They’d both been waiting a long time for this. In spite of the fact she was Wes’s sister, and that she had an attitude at times that could put a man in his place with a single glare, she was still all woman and Shooter had never failed to notice that.

He watched in fascination as she dropped to sit on the edge of the mattress, pulled him closer to her and slid his cock, ramrod straight and hard, between her lips. Glancing over at the mirror above the dresser, he saw their reflection. It was a tantalizing image, her golden head bouncing over his erection. His suntanned arms braced on her shoulders as she worked him hard. He felt the resulting tingling shoot from his balls, straight up his spine.

Trembling and trying to hang on just a little bit longer, he grabbed her head to hold her still before it was too late. She resisted, sucking harder, and then it was too late. He shot off into her mouth after what felt like barely a minute.

Ellen raised golden brows above those so-blue eyes as she pulled back and looked up. “Well, now I know why they call you Shooter.”

Shooter woke with a start, tangled in the sheets in his own bed. The boxer shorts he’d fallen asleep in were warm and wet, soaked through and clinging to his rapidly deflating hard-on.

What the fuck? He pressed his head back against the pillow and scrubbed his hands over his face.

Why was he dreaming about having sex with Ellen? More importantly, since it was his dream, why the hell had his own subconscious made him perform so badly?

I love Cat’s Tag line for her website:

I haven’t read Texas Two -Step but I know readers often know what they are talking about. These are on my TBB list. I love Cat’s Studs In Spurs series with Bucked being my favorite. The emotions Mustang feels in this book are profound. Here are the covers to wet your apetite.

When country boys meet a city girl, everyone is in for a wild ride.

Slade Bower and Mustang Jackson are living the high life on the professional bull-riding circuit. The prize money is big, the bulls are rank, and the women are willing. But something is missing.

For Slade, waking up in a different city with a different woman each morning is holding less and less appeal. Even Mustang’s creative attempts to shake things up don’t help. Then along comes a big-city author who’s like nothing they’ve ever encountered. Something about her makes Slade sit up and take notice—and Mustang is always up for anything.

Romance writer Jenna Block has a problem: her agent thinks a cowboy book will jump start her career. A born New Yorker, Jenna doesn’t do cowboys, not on paper, and definitely not in real life. Luckily for her there are two cowboys ready, willing and able to take her out of her comfort zone in every way that counts…and some ways she hadn’t counted on.

Warning:

This story contains two hot cowboys, one very lucky woman, hot ménage sex, and lots of bull.

This cowboy is looking for more than just an eight-second ride.

Studs in Spurs, Book 2

Mustang Jackson does two things well—ride bulls and love women. So the injury that takes him out of the arena leaves him only one way to make a living. Unfortunately, getting paid to be a stud in front of the camera isn’t as fun as private conquests. When he catches sight of little Sage Beckett, minus the glasses, braces and pigtails he remembers, doing time in his hometown suddenly gets a lot more interesting.

Sage had a crush on Michael long before he started using that ridiculous nickname “Mustang”. Though from what she’s overheard about his string of buckle bunnies, the man more than lives up to it. In the past he always looked right through her. Now that he’s home again, she’s determined to capture and tame this wild stallion, no matter what it takes.

She intends to satisfy her curiosity and move on, but with every touch she’s less sure she’ll ever purge him from her system. Once corralled in her arms, Mustang finds himself thinking that domestication may not be so bad after all.

Except, once she finds out about his side job, she may not stick for the next go-round.

Warning: Contains one well-hung cowboy riding much more than just bulls, some ménage action in front of and behind the camera, some whips and chains and some red-hot cowboy loving.

INTENDED FOR ADULT READERS-OVER 18 ONLY   free E-book

This is also the cover for 8 Second Ride   free E-book

What happens in Vegas…sometimes follows you home.

Pro bull rider Chase Reese knew things move faster than an eight-second ride in Las Vegas. He just never expected to be driving home with a national championship under his belt and a wedding band on his left hand with no clue how it got there.

Yet he can’t complain about the stripper bride beside him. From the moment his buddies bought him a lap dance from her, her trembles told him there was more to her than stiletto heels.

Leesa Santiago has met the perfect guy. Her timing couldn’t be worse though. If it was just their explosive sex, she could walk away. But from the moment her lap dance brought her this close to his baby blues, she was hooked. She can’t lie that she couldn’t be happier to bear his name—or guiltier that she’s using it and his Oklahoma farm to hide out from mob hit men.

That’s before Chase’s family gets involved. And his determination to do the right thing pushes her to do the one thing that will keep him safe. Break his heart.

Do cowboy boots mix with stripper heels? And can a love that started out on the wrong foot end up on the right one? That’s the risk you take waking up in Vegas.

Warning: Contains one happy-ending lap dance that will make you squirm, some pretty hot sex between two strangers who also happen to be married to each other, and a huge surprise conclusion.

And coming in time for my Birthday in August – Hooked         His last eight seconds could lead to the longest, most satisfying ride of his life.

Studs in Spurs, Book 4

Annie Grant is at the top of her game as an on-air interviewer for the pro bull-riders tour. In all those years standing within microphone range of thousands of sexy cowboys, she’s never been tempted…until now. Now that respected veteran Luke Carpenter is no longer with his longtime girlfriend, he’s back on the market. And Annie is buying.

Luke knows his days are numbered. Every year the rookies get younger, the bulls get ranker and, like it or not, the time is coming when he’ll be hanging up his spurs. After a sizzling hot night with Annie, he realizes that maybe this old dog can learn some new tricks. But quicker than a bull can spin, things get complicated.

A tragedy forces Luke into a no-win decision: hang onto the tail end of his career, or retire early for his family. Either way, he can live with his choice. Question is, can he live without Annie?

Warning: Contains knock-your-boots-off cowboy lovin, some up close and personal interviews of the oral persuasion, and a happy ending…cowboy style.

Cat also writes about Military heros and Romantic Comety. Here’s some of her other covers.

So today I’m giving away a e-book Copy Of Texas Two-Step: Cowboy Shuffle to a winner and to another winner I’ll give a e-book copy of my favorite – Bucked.

So now it’s Q &A Time:

Did you choose your genre or did it choose you?
Actually, I kind of fell into writing cowboys. I had one of my military consultants tell me his Bravo team leader used to be a rodeo cowboy before he joined the Army and is that a story I could use? I said yes, definitely and from that wrote my first contemporary cowboy menage Rough Stock. I haven’t stopped writing them since!
What is your favorite comfort food?
Mac and Cheese, not exactly gourmet but you can’t beat it!
Do you have a comfort read?
Sadly, I don’t really. When I’m really stressed, I turn on some bad TV show or movie and just let my mind go numb.
Were you a bookworm growing up?   Who did you read?
Totally. I started sneaking my mother’s Harlequins as a preteen and then graduated to John Jakes, Diana Gabaldon, with some Jane Austin thrown in during my college years.
What is something that scares the heck out of you?
Heights. Not airplanes, but like climbing into the hay loft in my barn, or when I have to shovel the snow off the roof of my 18th century farm house so it doesn’t collapse. Yeah, hate that.
If you could go on the Ultimate Vaca where would you go and who or what would go with you?
Probably the Irish countryside to some quaint place with lots of locals and little pubs and really old inns, and definitely with the man I love.
Z: I’d love to go along to Ireland.
Who are some of your favorite authors?

I love Suzanne Brockmann and Alison Kent, who both inspired me to try my hand at writing military with my Red, Hot & Blue series.

Research. How do you prefer to do it: plane/train/automobile, laptop or library?
Laptop and Google first and foremost. When I get all I can there, I resort to actual humans (though I usually access them by email or instant messenger) and will ask as many questions as they’re willing to answer. I have cowboys, active military, ranchers, and bull riders all willing to answer my questions for my writing.
Cat, I understand that you sponsor two cowboys in the rodeo, what can you tell us about them? How are they doing?
I do! Brian Conzett from Ohio and Alvin Morris from Oklahoma. Both riders started out 2011 strong.
I spent a weekend last February in North Carolina watching Brian compete in the NBR finals, and he was riding every 2 weeks in the SEBRA (Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association) competitions in Ohio for a while, but then he got a job working on a pipeline in PA. It’s a lesson about bull riding really–most riders don’t make enough to make a living at it, and if you get hurt and you make your living with a physical job, then your paying job is also in jeopardy. He is working to save money so he can marry his girlfriend and not riding right now. Since he’s in his mid-20s, he’s told me he has to make it big as a pro bullrider within the next few years or give up his dream because, sadly, in bull riding 30 is old.
Alvin went from an amateur riding in local rodeos when I started with him, to joining a professional organization last year. He started NEO College in Miami, OK in August and is concentrating on his studies in architecture for his Freshman year but he should be starting up again this spring. I know NEO has a rodeo team and I think it would be great if he rode for them or for the organization he joined. Either way, I know he’s happiest when he’s riding.
Do you attend conferences?
If so where can we “stalk” I mean go to find you and which is your favorite to attend?
I’ll be at the RT Booklovers Convention in Chicago in April, and then at Authors After Dark in New Orleans in August. I like the smaller size of AAD.
Z: I wish you’d come to RomCon in Denver
What do you like to drink, nibble on or listen to while you write?
Coffee in the morning while I check my email, then hot tea during the day while I’m writing. I usually have the television on real low in the background for company while I write.
Do you have kids?
No kids, which is why I’m still moderately sane. LOL But I have lots of animals and a husband, both of which can act like children sometimes.
If you could have one of your books or series to be made into a movie which would it be and who do you see starring in it?
While I was writing my A Cowboy for Christmas last November, I had on the holiday movie marathons on Lifetime and the Hallmark Channel most of the month and I couldn’t help but think, that book would make a kickass holiday movie. As far as stars–that’s a hard one. The tough cowboy hero would have to be meltingly sexy and a bit rough around the edges. The heroine would have to be a strong, confident, professional city girl with an overwhelming weakness for cowboys. Got any suggestions?? I’m terrible at casting my own stories.
Z : I’m always a sucker for a young Sam Elliot, his voice can make me melt like butter.
Favorite TV shows?
Do not miss shows are Big Bang Theory, Castle, and Two and a Half Men. And I love that new fairy tale show Sunday nights on ABC, Once Upon a Time I think it’s called. I’m also kind of addicted to a few of the train wreck “reality” TV shows, such as Mob Wives and Jersey Shore. I know, I know, I hang my head in shame.
To finish off, describe yourself in 5 words.
Competitive, loyal, short-tempered, dynamo, bitch
